Casino Hotels
Four casino hotels in Canada, described as hotels first. Each is a full-service property with rooms, restaurants, a spa or a theatre, and a gaming floor among its facilities. We cover the buildings and their settings; we do not cover gaming, odds or promotions, and nothing here is an invitation to gamble.

Montreal Casino & Hotel
Montreal, Canada
The Montreal Casino occupies the former French pavilion from Expo 67, on Île Notre-Dame in the middle of the Saint Lawrence, and the hotel side of the operation works from that island setting. Guests arrive across a bridge to a site that is parkland first and entertainment complex second.
As a hotel it is straightforward and well-serviced: comfortable rooms, several restaurants at different formalities, a cabaret-style performance space and easy access to the Parc Jean-Drapeau footpaths and the Olympic basin. The gaming floor is one facility among these, spread through the pavilion's tiered interior with its long windows over the water.
The river view is the distinguishing feature. Rooms and public areas face either downtown Montreal's skyline or the open channel, and the walk back from the city at night is one of the better approaches to any hotel in the province.
-
Fallsview Casino Resort
Niagara Falls, Canada
Fallsview is built into the escarpment above the Horseshoe Falls, which means the hotel's whole orientation is settled before anything else is decided. Upper-floor rooms look directly down the gorge, and the public levels are stacked to keep that view available from restaurants and lounges as well.
The resort runs as a full-service hotel: a spa, a fitness level, a variety of dining rooms and a large theatre that books touring acts through the year. Its gaming floor sits on the lower levels, and an enclosed walkway connects the building to the wider Fallsview district so that guests rarely need to go outside in winter.
It works best for a stay built around the falls themselves — the mist walk, the gorge trails and the illumination after dark — with the hotel as the warm, well-equipped base above them.
-
River Rock Casino Resort
Richmond, Canada
River Rock sits on the Fraser River in Richmond, British Columbia, a few minutes from Vancouver International Airport and directly on the Canada Line into the city. That position defines it: it functions as an airport-adjacent resort hotel with a marina attached.
The hotel side offers spacious rooms in two towers, a spa, a handful of restaurants running from casual to steakhouse, and a large show theatre. Its own dock takes boats off the river, and the dyke trail along the waterfront gives a long, flat walk that most guests find on the first morning. Gaming occupies part of the ground level.
For anyone connecting through Vancouver or working across Richmond's industrial and agricultural edge, it is an unusually well-placed base that does not require a car.

Casino Rama Resort
Rama, Canada
Casino Rama stands on the Chippewas of Rama First Nation land near Orillia, in Ontario's lake country, and is owned and operated in partnership with that community. The resort is the largest employer in the area and its programming reflects a long-running connection to the region rather than a transplanted format.
The hotel offers several room categories across a low-rise campus, with a pool, a spa and a set of restaurants that keep late hours for people coming out of the entertainment centre — a venue that has hosted touring musicians and comedians for decades. A gaming floor occupies part of the main building.
Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe are minutes away, which gives the stay a straightforwardly seasonal character: boats and trails in summer, ice and snow roads in winter.
